We’re hiring - Senior Building Physics Consultant
Beyond Carbon Associates is a design and engineering consultancy established in 2022 with a mission to make low-energy, healthy buildings the norm in the UK. We are Passivhaus designers, architectural physicists, engineers, creators and innovators, using our technical wisdom to engineer excellent, beyond zero-carbon buildings.
We are now looking for an experienced energy and building performance consultant to join our growing building physics team.
Role Description
The Senior Building Physics Consultant will work on a variety of projects, applying expertise in sustainable building design and energy performance optimisation.
Main responsibilities include:
Undertaking advanced building performance modelling using IESVE and related tools
Carrying out compliance work including overheating, energy and daylighting analysis (TM52, TM59, Part O, Part L, EPCs etc.)
Supporting the development and application of computational design tools (Rhino/Grasshopper)
Translating complex simulation outputs into actionable design recommendations and communicating these outputs effectively with design teams and other stakeholders
Using Passivhaus strategies in design, modelling and construction, and supporting certification and on-site quality assurance
Qualifications / Experience
Degree qualified in relevant subject – engineering or physics preferred
Certified Passivhaus Designer / Consultant preferred
Qualified OCDEA / NDEA preferred
At least 5 years' experience in a similar role is preferrable, although we are open to all applicants who believe they can demonstrate the necessary skills and experience for the role
